This website is run by NHS London Procurement Partnership. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

Graphic on the Think page

The graphic on the Think page presents text as an image. This fails:

  • WCAG 1.1.1 (Non-text Content)
  • WCAG 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum))
  • WCAG 1.4.5 (Images of Text)

Users who rely on screen readers, screen magnification or custom colour/contrast settings cannot access or adjust this content. We plan to replace the graphic with real text and appropriate styling by [DATE TO BE CONFIRMED].

Video captions and audio description

The YouTube-embedded videos on the spacer and inhaler detail pages have auto-generated captions that cannot be edited or extracted, and the presence of audio description has not been confirmed. This fails:

  • WCAG 1.2.2 (Captions (Prerecorded))
  • WCAG 1.2.3 (Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded))
  • WCAG 1.2.5 (Audio Description (Prerecorded))

This affects users who are D/deaf, users who are hard of hearing, and users who rely on captions or transcripts. We’re reviewing whether audio description is required and will replace auto-generated captions with edited, accurate captions by [DATE TO BE CONFIRMED].

Landmarks and regions

The website does not use main, header or navigation landmarks. This is a global issue affecting every page and fails:

  • WCAG 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships)
  • WCAG 2.4.1 (Bypass Blocks)

Search box instructions (desktop)

On desktop, the search box cannot be accessed independently by a screen reader, but retains focus when the dropdown is opened. Users are not given instructions indicating that they can begin typing to search. This fails:

This affects screen reader users on desktop. It is recommended that instructions be exposed programmatically, either through an accessible description or associated text, explaining that focus is automatically placed within the search field and that users can begin typing to filter the available options. Search results order (mobile)

On mobile (iOS), the search results within the dropdown are not included in the expected sequential navigation order. Users must switch to exploratory gestures to locate and interact with the available options. This fails:

  • WCAG 2.1.1 (Keyboard)

This affects screen reader users on mobile. It is recommended that the component be reviewed so that VoiceOver users can move sequentially through the search results in a logical order, matching the visual presentation of the component. We plan to fix this by [DATE TO BE CONFIRMED].

This website was last tested on 29 July 2026. The test was carried out by Thornacre Engineering Ltd, who audited the site against WCAG 2.2 AA and carried out remediation work.
